Longaberger Heart Basket Cake

I was asked to do a basket cake for someone who collects Longaberger baskets. I thought it would be cool to make a hanging heart basket with flowers coming out of the top. I baked the cake in a large heart pan and then I used a basket tip to cover the ENTIRE cake in a basket weave. When I reached the top of the heart, I used the basket tip to create a flat border to look like the edge of a basket. Then I went to Walmart and bought some fake flowers. Since it was September, there was an amazing selection of fall flowers! I spent between $5-$10 and got everything I needed. Last I heard, the birthday girl loved the cake and was even planning on sending a picture of it to the Longaberger corporate office!
