Care Bear Baby Shower Cake

I made this "Welcome to the World" Care Bear cake for a friend's Baby Shower. It had to serve quite a few people, so I baked two cakes. The first cake was a sheet cake that I airbrushed green and blue to look like grass and blue sky.

I used a shaped Care Bear cake pan for the second cake. I outlined the details of the Care Bear and then used a star shaped cake decorating tip to frost the majority of the cake. I smoothed out the icing for the eyes and the belly though. When I was done with the icing, I decided to write my "Welcome to the World Savannah" message on the belly. It was the perfect place. Since little Savannah was already here, I went ahead and included her birthday and weight.

After I was done frosting it, I slid the Care Bear cake onto the sheet cake and then made a border to hide the seam.

To finish it off, I made a nice shell border around the edges of the sheet cake.

The cake was a hit!
